Saturday Morning Clinic (9:30a-12p)

We offer same-day appointments for sick children. We do not do checkups or vaccines on Saturday, but we do check tuberculosis skin tests (PPD) placed the previous Wednesday or Thursday.

Holidays

We are closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. We are open 9am – noon on New Year's Eve and Christmas Eve, as well as the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Telephone Advice After Hours

If your child has an urgent medical condition, which arises outside of our regular office hours, and it cannot wait until we are back in the office, call our office as usual to reach our answering service. The answering service operators will take your message and forward it to a pediatric advice nurse at the Night Nurses advice line. The nurse will call you back, and, if your child needs to be seen, you will be referred to the urgent care center or emergency room that best meets your child’s needs. The staff at Night Nurses have all of our preferred local urgent care and emergency room information and are in close contact with the physician on call. One of our physicians reviews a report of every call, and someone from our office will contact you the next day to follow up on your child’s condition and make an appointment in our office if necessary. We have a doctor on call 24/7 if the nurse cannot answer your question.

Please be aware that once you initiate the phone call to Night Nurses to speak with an advice nurse or the doctor on call, you will be charged the call fee.

It is extremely important that you:

There is a charge for all after hours calls; see Office Policies for current amount. We do not bill insurance for after-hours advice, so you will be billed by our office; you do not need to worry about payment at the time of your call.

Some insurance companies offer free pediatric nurse advice, but they do not notify us of your call. If you are still concerned about your child’s health, you should contact our office directly.

Wondering if your child needs to be seen? This interactive website is based on the same triage protocols we use in our office and can help you decide what to do when our office is not open. Remember, we always have advice nurses after hours to answer your questions; just call our office.

Pediatric Urgent Care Clinics

We recommend the following clinics specifically because they are staffed by pediatricians and because they automatically fax us a record of your visit. They generally accept the same insurances we do, but it is always your responsibility to check with your particular plan about participating providers.
