Dr. Kenney joined our group in September of 2000. She is originally from the Washington, DC area. She received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University in Chicago and attended medical school at the University of Maryland. She completed her internship and residency at Children's Hospital of Oakland. After residency, Dr. Kenney completed 2 years of fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Stanford. She developed a passion for general pediatrics and decided to settle in the area. She enjoys an active family life, with her husband, daughter and two sons.

Dr. Trujillo joined our group in July 2007. Raised in Houston, Texas, she fell in love with the Bay Area and earned her MD from UCSF School of Medicine as well as her Master's in Public Health from UC Berkeley. Dr. Trujillo returned to the southwest for residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where she was honored for excellence in primary care. She was elected Chief of the Pediatrics Department at El Camino Hospital in 2016, for a two-year term. Other leadership roles at El Camino Hospital include Vice Chief of the Pediatrics Department from 2014-2016 and Medical Standards for Information Technology Committee 2014-2016. She is happy to be settled in the South Bay with her husband and son. Dr. Trujillo invites you to hear her sing with the Santa Clara Chorale; she also enjoys cooking, gardening, and reading. Dr. Trujillo is proficient in Spanish.

Patty P. Sabey, MD, PhD, FAAP

Dr. Sabey (formerly, Patty Shih Vernon) joined our group in August 2015. Born in Taiwan, she moved to the Bay Area as a teenager and earned her Bachelor of Arts at UC Berkeley, and her MD and PhD at Johns Hopkins University. She returned to California for residency at UC San Diego Medical Center and Rady Children’s Hospital. As the Associate Director of the Pediatric Outpatient Teaching Services at Scripps Mercy Hospital, she provided primary care at a community clinic and educational training to medical students and residents in San Diego. She also served as a Voluntary Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UCSD. Dr. Sabey enjoys being settled back in the Bay Area with her husband and their four very active children. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, proficient in Taiwanese, and she values being part of a stable primary care practice where she can provide continuity of care and help children and families flourish.

Anita Biswal, MD, FAAP (urgent care only)

Dr. Biswal started with our group in July of 2003, working part-time for us. She is originally from the Philadelphia area. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She then ventured to California, completing her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Oakland. She and her husband enjoy the Bay Area culture and outdoor activities with their two young daughters.

Melissa Giustini, MD, FAAP (urgent care only)

Dr. Giustini joined us in 2015. She was born and raised in Portland, OR and completed a BA in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology at Whitman College in Washington. She earned her MD at SUNY Upstate Medical University in New York and excelled in her pediatric residency at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts. She returned to the West Coast in 2014, settling in Palo Alto with her husband. Dr. Giustini's expertise, listening skills and commitment to patient education all make her a valuable member of the HDP team. She enjoys hiking, running, gardening, and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Our professional billing staff will submit billed charges to your insurance company as a courtesy to you and will assist you in the event of any difficulties. At times, your insurance company may require that you contact them directly.
For your convenience, we accept cash, personal check, Discover, Visa, and Mastercard.

Medical Assistants

Our Medical Assistants are here to welcome you to our office and make your child’s visit comfortable and convenient. They will also prepare your child for his or her examination, give shots, and do minor procedures such as breathing treatments. During office hours, they schedule appointments and answer your questions using established protocols under the supervision of the doctors. All advice is discussed with or reviewed by our doctors on a daily basis. Please keep them informed of any changes in your address, phone numbers, or insurance information.
